A small kitten, feeling terrified and alone, concealed herself in the most unlikely place—a brick wall—on a rainy, gloomy evening. Trembling with terror and attempting to flee the harsh world around her, she had been trapped in the middle of a deluge. Before one courageous person realized she couldn’t allow this tiny life slip away, she was hidden under that wall for hours without anyone to help her.
A Saving amid the Downpour
A local caregiver called Alli, a committed animal rescuer, urgently. A kitten in dire need of assistance had been found by the caregiver. Terrified and unable to escape, the poor kitten had squeezed herself into a tiny hole in the wall. Time was running out, the night was getting cooler, and it was raining heavily. Alli felt she needed to move quickly.
Alli hurried to the scene, determined not to abandon the cat to the bitter cold. She tried to entice the kitten out of her hiding place for almost an hour while standing in the pouring rain. Alli remembered, “She would meow at me and extend her paws, but she was still too scared to come all the way out.”
Alli persisted, though. She calmed the kitten with her voice and soft touch as she waited patiently. The little tabby eventually took a leap of faith after what seemed like an eternity. She crept out of the wall and into Alli’s arms, which were waiting for her.

Alli remarked, “It seemed as though she had never experienced love before.” “She was unwilling to leave my side.” As she purred and made “biscuits” with her paws on the walk home, the kitten—later named Arya—cuddled into Alli’s arms.
She only wanted to be loved, and in the arms of her rescuer, she at last experienced that. Desperate for love and warmth following a traumatic event, Arya refused to be let down despite Alli’s carrying a carrier.
