The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, is reportedly building a huge 14,400-square-foot mansion to unite his enormous family. According to reports, he is also going big at home.
In order for the younger siblings to grow up together and for Musk to spend more time with his family, he wants a place where his eleven children and two of their three mothers can reside close by.
International news sites reported a few days ago that Elon Musk, a businessman and investor, wants all of his children and their mothers to live together in some capacity.

Eleven children from three separate women are owned by the man who controls SpaceX and Tesla. Last Monday, the New York Times reported that Musk intends to relocate his entire family into three adjacent mansions in Austin, Texas.
Musk’s plans are thwarted by the musician Claire Boucher, better known by her stage name Grimes, with whom he is married and has three children. Who gets to keep their children has been the source of their arguments. According to The Bytes, Grimes wants an additional estate, maybe in Los Angeles, according to People magazine, so that Musk’s ex-partners and their children can live together.
This expansive system is not inexpensive. The estate has many properties worth about $35 million, including a six-bedroom mansion that is within a ten-minute walk from the main villa, where Musk frequently stays.
Let’s dissect it:
Musk had six children with Justine Musk, his first wife. They later had triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai, as well as twins Griffin and Vivian, after their first child, Nevada, unfortunately died as a baby.
- Talulah Riley: Musk’s second wife, actress Talulah Riley, wed and divorced him twice. She focused on her career, which contributed to the termination of their relationship.
– Claire Boucher (Grimes): In 2020, Musk and Boucher welcomed their first child, X Æ A-Xii, who went on to become famous. Later, they added more family members.
- Shivon Zilis: Musk has children with Zilis, who resides in Austin at the moment and is occasionally seen at neighborhood gatherings. In June 2023, Musk announced that they were expecting their third child together.

The plan for the Austin complex
At first, Musk had ambitious ambitions to build a family residence on hundreds of acres close to Tesla’s headquarters in Austin. However, when the U.S. Justice Department began investigating whether Tesla’s funds were being used to construct an opulent glass home for Musk’s personal use, this plan came to a head.
In August 2023, Musk refuted the rumors, but he kept looking at Austin real estate for his growing family. He and Boucher had a 6,900-square-foot house until she left in the middle of 2023 due to a custody battle.
Family conflicts and future living situations
Which members of Musk’s family will move inside the new complex is unknown. According to reports, he is estranged from some of his elder children, such as his daughter Vivian. Transgender woman Vivian has openly criticized her father, implying that he is not really the “family man” he wants to project.
