The Dallas Buyers Club star posted pictures of his teenage son’s surf injuries to Instagram, referring to them as his “memorabilia.”
On social media, 14-year-old Levi is seen next to his neon green surfboard. With his back to the camera, the youngster has multiple huge white bandages on his sun-kissed skin. He also has a small patch of pink plaster in the middle of his back.
Actor Matthew, 53, labels the picture “Surf souvenirs” and shows little care for his son’s condition despite the fact that there are numerous apparent injuries.
Levi’s post looked like his father, and followers rushed to the comments area to reply.
Some, like Matthew, chose to ignore the image, while others voiced concerns about it.
“We call em natures tattoo brotha,” one user joked. “This is amazing.”
Stories about me having bumps, scrapes, and bruises are some of my favorite recollections of my early years, hehe. “This is awesome,” said a third.
A fourth person also commented, saying, “All the fathers, ‘That a boy,’ all the women, ‘poor baby!'”
