Shakira, a Colombian artist, took advantage of the award ceremony to speak out against the problems facing the United States.
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Shakira’s twelfth studio album, was released on March 22, 2024.
Eight new songs, a remix, and seven previously released hit singles—such as Music Sessions Vol. 53 with Bizarrap and TQG with Karol G—are included on this CD. It’s the first studio album she’s released in seven years.
The album has received 3.7 billion Spotify plays to date. Shakira called the creative process “alchemical” during promotional events, saying that she was able to use music and performance to change her feelings, transforming tears into “diamonds” and vulnerability into power.
When she performed live in Los Angeles following her Grammy triumph, her happiness was palpable.
But she decided to focus on a critical problem that has been plaguing the US since President Trump took office: the difficulties experienced by immigrants, especially those who face deportation.
“This award is dedicated to all of my fellow immigrants in this country.” “You matter, and I will always stand with you,” Shakira said, reaffirming her support for the country’s immigration policies.
It’s important to note that Shakira might have failed to notice that the president is focusing more on illegal immigration than legitimate ones.
She concluded her remarks by thanking her two kids who were in the audience, saying, “I am so proud of you for your kind hearts.” I sincerely appreciate your steadfast support. I adore you and thank you.
She talked about how much she enjoyed the performance when she accepted the Best Latin Pop Album prize.
It was a dream come true to be at one of the greatest Grammy editions ever, surrounded by so many friends and outstanding musicians. I hope to see you on my #LMYNLWorldTour in the United States in May! #GRAMMYs
