Before all this, Joe was just a typical kitty. Joe’s life was in shambles when he was discovered dragging himself through the streets of Oregon. He was only able to propel himself forward with his front paws because his back legs were paralyzed.
It was horrible to see this young kitten, struggling to survive, abandoned and left on his own.
An Accident That Changes Lives
Joe was struck by a car some months prior to his rescue. He suffered more injuries from the accident than just a fractured back. Additionally, he had a diaphragmatic hernia, which made breathing difficult for him because his intestines had pushed into his chest cavity.
Even though his birth family may have loved him, they were unable to pay for the emergency operation he required, so they abandoned him. Joe was left alone for months, struggling to keep alive while dragging his body along. He was unable to walk.
A Rescue That Saves Lives
Things didn’t start to change until a nice stranger noticed Joe. This kindhearted person called Meow Village, a local rescue group, for assistance since they couldn’t bear to see the little guy suffer.
As soon as possible, the Meow Village crew acted quickly to take Joe under their care and get him to the veterinarian.
