Gingerbread had experienced loneliness and suffering all his life. He was left to fend for himself in the rubble of a defunct building site, where he only experienced hunger and suffering. But fate had something lovely in store for him, even when it appeared like no one gave a damn.
A solitary life in a barren place
Gingerbread lived on a dilapidated building site for several years. It was a site of harsh outdoor conditions and chilly concrete, with neither protection nor comfort. He went hungry most of the time, but occasionally he found food leftovers.
He had shattered teeth from years of fighting for his life, and the pain got worse every day. The world had left Gingerbread, a lost soul.
However, there remained a ray of optimism in spite of the loneliness. The day came when good-hearted rescuers found him, despite the fact that he was the last member of his colony to be saved. They were resolved to give Gingerbread another chance because they felt he had suffered more than any animal should.
A Last Salvation from a Broken Life
He was only a shell of the cat he may have been when rescuers finally took him into their custody. Too scared to trust the humans attempting to save him, he had been hidden for so long. His eyes were filled with distrust and terror; he was unaware that these folks were really trying to assist.
After being rescued, Gingerbread was taken to a foster home where he could start the healing process. However, his adventure was only getting started.
