For months, a lone orange tabby named Finnegan quietly waited in a crowded park in New York. Finnegan stood where he was, hoping his people would come back, even though it was cold and busy all around him. Unfortunately, they didn’t. A bystander noticed Finnegan’s tragic devotion after he was abandoned by his prior owners and contacted the animal rescue group Little Wanderers NYC.
Hope for Finnegan Again
Finnegan was huddled up next to some trees, attempting to remain warm, when the Little Wanderers rescuers came. This stray cat surprised them by giving them loving headbutts without displaying any aggressiveness or fear. It was evident from Finnegan’s kind disposition that he had been a house cat in the past, and he trusted that these people were there to assist him. Even while being put in a carrier caused some initial agony, Finnegan soon calmed down, perhaps aware that his life was about to take a positive turn.
The Road to Healing
Finnegan was given a comprehensive veterinary examination after arriving safely at the rescue facility. He had no identification or microchip, but the rescuers were determined to offer him a new beginning despite the fact that he was just two years old and in generally good health. After receiving treatment and neutering, Finnegan was put with Jessica Du in a caring foster home. Finnegan’s amiable and endearing nature was evident as he immediately started to explore his new surroundings.
