After that first meeting, this chill tabby started tagging along with Coconut and her human parents on their daily stroll.
As soon as Bubba saw Cay and Coconut, it was like he just knew they were his people.
With a friendly vibe, he started to tag along, having fun chats that made him a hit with both Cay and her dog.
Bubba 8 Coconut, with a little sniff and a wag, totally welcomed Bubba, and before you knew it, a one-of-a-kind friendship grew between these two pals.
Bubba figured out where they lived and would chill at Cay’s back door every morning, all set to tag along with his new buddy on their daily stroll around the neighborhood.
Bubba 1 Cay thought Bubba was someone’s pet in the neighborhood at first, but her neighbors quickly filled her in that he was actually a beloved local stray, with no real home or name.
Even so, it was Cay and Coconut who decided to call him Bubba, bringing him into their lives like it was meant to be.
Bubba 3 Before long, their adventures went from just casual walks to fun times in the backyard, where Bubba and Coconut’s play sessions turned into the best part of the day.
Coconut was super excited to see her cat buddy, jumping around and barking happily, showing just how close they were getting.

Cay really wanted Bubba to be a permanent part of their family, but there were some bumps along the way since Bubba was a bit unsure about coming inside.
“We kicked off Bubba’s transition to coming inside by feeding him in our laundry room,” Cay shared with We Love Cats and Kittens.

“It was a spot where the other cats in the house couldn’t reach him, a little place he could just step into and grab a bite.”

Cay would keep the garage door open to avoid feeling trapped, while the laundry room door to the house would stay shut.
We usually fed him in there most evenings for a couple of months. So, once he got used to things, we began feeding our other cats on the other side of that closed door, letting them sniff each other through it.

After sticking it out and being patient, Bubba finally started to feel at home in Cay’s place, kicking off a fresh new chapter for both of them.
Bubba 10 “One night, something felt different, and we spotted him in our backyard heading towards our back door,” shared Cay.
“So we opened it, and he just strolled right in, and I was like, oh, that’s something else.”

He quickly hopped up on the table where Cay feeds her cats and started munching on their food.
“I was like, huh, this is something else,” Cay said. “But I’m not gonna complain!”

And that’s all there was to it. He had his dinner at the table and just hung out there for about an hour. He stayed inside and let the other cats come up to him.
They kinda hissed a bit, but there was no fighting at all.
Coconut was really eager to play with Bubba, but he was feeling a bit shy, so we had to hold her back a bit. We let them have some fun together, but not as much as they usually do since their play can get pretty wild.

Things calmed down in the house after a few little arguments, but Bubba was all in – he was ready to be part of the family.
“We’re finally at a stage where the cats can hang out together pretty smoothly.” That totally makes me super happy.

The other cats totally welcomed him, and Coconut was just stoked to have his best buddy and playmate around.

They’ve toned down their playful shenanigans a bit, and you can usually catch them snoozing together.
This awesome pup has totally given Bubba a fresh start, and his playful side comes alive every time they hang out.

Their journey totally won over everyone who saw it and reminded us all that love and friendship have no limits.

Bubba and Coconut’s friendship is like a bright light in a world that can be pretty divided. It’s all about the simple, genuine happiness that comes from being true friends.
