When was the last time you saw an unintentional act of kindness that made you feel good? Megan Ashley was fortunate enough to witness one during a recent flight. She also made care to spread the word about it globally.
While traveling with Southwest Airlines from San Diego to Nashville, Megan saw a 96-year-old woman who appeared a little uncomfortable. It turns out that the elderly woman was pretty nervous because she hadn’t had a plane ride in a staggering fifteen years. However, as fate would have it, a “flight angel” was seated behind her. A good-natured man who sympathized with her fear and readily extended his assistance.
This guy kindly held her hand the entire flight, allowing her to cling to him for support, and comforting her with his comforting words. He calmed her down when things got a little rough and carefully described everything that was happening during takeoff.
However, his generosity didn’t stop there.
When she needed to go to the bathroom, he assisted her in getting up and moving down the aisle. Additionally, he made sure she got off the plane safely by holding her suitcase when it came time to disembark. The fact that he went above and beyond most moved Megan. At one point, the old woman became confused and thought her daughter was her sister.
However, until she was reunited with her family member, her flight angel remained by her side. This touching story serves as a helpful reminder that not all news is negative. There are still a ton of kind people in the world, like this flight angel, who help us to believe in humanity despite the sporadic bad headlines. In light of this, please share this tale with others if it touched you. One act of kindness at a time, let us improve the world.
