After a high-profile case, Heather Unbehaun, who was suspected of kidnapping her daughter from a suburb of Illinois six years ago, handed herself in. Unbehaun is being held without bond on allegations of kidnapping at the Kane County Adult Justice Center in Illinois
Kayla Unbehaun was reunited with her custodial father after being located safe in North Carolina a few days prior to her surrender. Due to allegations of kidnapping and child abduction, Heather Unbehaun was wanted in Illinois and was apprehended in North Carolina. According to Samantha Booth, a spokesman for the Asheville Police Department, she was freed on Tuesday after posting bail after being detained on a $250,000 bond at first.
Ryan Iserka praised fans and law police for getting him and Kayla back together. The next court date for Heather Unbehaun is Wednesday morning at the Kane County Judicial Center.
On July 4, 2017, following a parade in South Elgin, Illinois, Kayla was kidnapped. Heather never came back from their camping trip, despite telling Ryan Iserka, Kayla’s father. Heather’s arrest warrant was upgraded to a felony.
The breakthrough occurred when an Asheville resident reported the case to the police after recognizing Kayla from Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries.”
