Former Russian Valeria Levitin, who now resides in Monaco, has observed an unsettling pattern: young girls write to her, curious about how she managed to get such a trim figure.
“I’ve had emails from young women, most of them in their twenties, who see me as an inspiration and want advice on how they can look like me,” the 39-year-old stated in an interview with The Sun.
Valeria, however, is adamantly opposed to anorexia and declines to offer guidance that would put young girls in risk. She has battled an eating issue since she was in her teens, and she is now committed to bringing attention to the terrible effects it has had on her life.

Valeria wishes to keep others from going through what she did. She claims that she feels alone and unattractive as a result of her struggle with anorexia. Valeria was subjected to stringent food regulations from an early age because of her mother’s concern that she would gain weight because of her family’s history.
Valeria relocated to Chicago with her family when she was sixteen, thinking that she would fit in at her new school if she lost weight. After years of dieting, she severely reduced her intake of sugar and carbohydrates, which now causes her body to have digestive issues. She was motivated to shed even more weight after a classmate made a harsh remark about her weight.
Valeria had long avoided certain meals due to their detrimental effects on her body, and at the age of 23, her dress size decreased significantly from a healthy size 12 to a size 6. She is socially isolated as a result of her eating issue; after ten years of being single, she finds it challenging to engage in typical pair activities like dining out.
