CNN’s Dana Bash responded to her tense interview with Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance after the latter’s assertion on Haitian migrants. The senator from Ohio said that Bash had been kind toward Vice President Kamala Harris.
When I asked, “What, you created a story?,” there was a moment of hesitation before he responded, “If we have to create stories, that’s what we’ll do.” At an interview on her network on Thursday, Bash grumbled, “And then he, I think, realized what he said and moved on and went after me again.”During his discussion with Harris earlier this month, Bash and Vance got into a heated argument about statements made by the former president Donald Trump against Haitian immigration in Ohio.
“This was completely disregarded by the American media until Donald Trump and I started chatting about cat memes. You guys are really letting Kamala Harris coast, so I’m going to do what I have to, Dana, if it means writing stories to get the American media to actually pay attention to the suffering of the American people,” Vance stated.
However, Vance explained, “meaning we’re creating the American media focusing on it,” when she questioned Trump’s running mate on what he meant by that.
During the conversation on Monday, Bash stated that Vance “took issue with the fact that I quoted the mayor of Springfield,” who had requested that federal agents refrain from reiterating divisive statements about the Haitian migrants since doing so could endanger locals, as Fox News reported.
Then, Bash continued, “Vance kind of accused me of telling him that he’s inciting violence.”
Throughout the conversation, Vance repeatedly informed Bash that he was only reacting to reports from his own constituents about purported activities by the 60,000 or so migrants in the city. He said that because of the open-border policies of the Biden-Harris administration, the community has found it challenging to accept and care for the approximately 20,000 Haitians who have been placed there.
According to Fox, “residents have been pointing to an uptick in crime, mayhem, and car crashes due to the massive influx of new residents.”
Many firms in Springfield are quite appreciative that these Haitian migrants are here since, after the city’s economy was severely damaged in the 1970s and 1980s, they were attempting to expand but lacked the labor force to do so. They do now,” Bash went on.
“Questions concerning modifying the laws, integrating schools, language, and driving exams. These are very valid questions. There’s no other way to put it than that eating dogs and cats is rife with racial stereotypes, the speaker stated.
As Vance pointed out, a number of city dwellers have reported similar events, so it’s unclear why Bash and her network would brush them off as baseless or label anyone documenting such action as “racist,” even though left-wing journalists frequently say as much.
As Bash pointed out, there have also been other bomb threats in Springfield in recent days. “You’ve been discussing how, I believe, today is no different—there are closed colleges, schools, and hospitals due to bomb threats, and look, it’s dangerous—there’s really no other way to put it,” she remarked.
She doesn’t seem to be aware of or is disregarding, though, the governor of the state, Mike DeWine, declaring earlier this week that the threats are baseless, mostly of foreign origin, and most likely intended to incite political strife.
At a press conference, DeWine stated, “We have received 33 separate bomb threats, each of which has been responded to, and each one has been found to be a hoax.” “I want to be quite clear about that. All of these were completely without merit.
“We have taken certain steps to address the extreme worry that people have expressed to us. However, let me to clarify: all of these threats and hoaxes have been made up. “They haven’t all worked out,” DeWine continued. “Unfortunately, there are persons acting in this manner who are located abroad. A portion of them originate from a certain nation and seek chances to cause trouble for the United States.
