The mother who fatally stabbed her child has been discovered dead in a prison.

Rachel Tunstill, 32, was discovered dead in HMP Styal, Cheshire, after serving a life sentence for the murder of her newborn daughter, Mia Kelly. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman is presently investigating her death. Due to the horrific nature of the crime and the intricate legal proceedings that ensued, Tunstill’s case had attracted a lot of media attention. The terrible event began in 2017 when Rachel Tunstill, a deputy manager and psychology graduate, killed her infant daughter, Mia, shortly after giving birth.
