Life might present us with obstacles that appear insurmountable at times. One stray cat in Greece lost her mobility due to paralysis. Her body remained still, and she could only raise her head. Assuming she had been struck by a car, the veterinarians recommended euthanasia. Her determination to live, however, exceeded everyone’s expectations.
A Surprise Diagnosis
The first veterinarian suggested putting the cat to sleep since he thought she had no hope of recovering. But there was a spirit of determination in her eyes. An MRI and x-rays were among the several tests conducted by a second veterinarian. Her disease had no apparent etiology. Uncertain yet hopeful, her caregivers, Alex and Amber, took her home without any answers. Saaving Lives was founded by Alex and Amber.
Initial Indications of Hope
The cat made a little progress in the first several days. They gave her the name Faith. She could reach her food bowl by raising her head. Faith continued to seek connection by gently rubbing her head, even as her body stayed still. She made modest but noticeable progress after ten days when she started kneading with her front paws. Every small increase in strength gave her caregivers fresh optimism.
