When a stray cat dropped off a small, two-week-old kitten in Elizabeth Egeland’s basement, she discovered an unexpected visitor in the peaceful suburbs of Massachusetts. For Egeland, who hadn’t expected such a surprise in her house, it was an odd experience.
The Captivating Video
Egeland was intrigued and looked through her security camera footage to see where this enigmatic feline visitor had come from. She could not have predicted what she would discover. A sight right out of a storybook had been captured on camera: a stray tomcat, whom Egeland called Red, came in via the cat door holding a kitten in his teeth.
An Intimate Motion
Red, a well-known figure in Egeland’s community, had clearly become fond of her house and frequently stopped by for a lunch or a comfortable snooze. This time, however, he brought something valuable: a kitten in need of safety. Red’s act of kindness and trust touched Egeland, who dubbed it her own “Disney princess moment.”
