
Fred Parris wrote the song “In The Still Of The Night,” which his band Five Satins recorded. When it was first released, it was a moderate hit, but it gained a lot of airtime over time and is now regarded as one of the greatest doo-woop songs ever. Numerous musicians, such as Debbie Gibson and Boyz II Men, have covered it. Additionally, it has appeared in a number of films.

When the song was added to the 1987 “Dirty Dancing” soundtrack, its popularity only grew.
