We don’t like boiling corn since it never seems to taste as nice that way, but we love corn on the cob and try to obtain as much of it as we can while it’s in season. We were unaware that there was a simpler and more flavorful method of cooking it—in the slow cooker!
Corn retains its sweet flavor while steaming nicely when combined with water in a slow cooker. After that, you can add as much butter, salt, and pepper as you like and savor it to the utmost!
Ingredients
8–10 corn ears
One-third cup of water
One teaspoon of lemon juice, unsalted butter, freshly ground pepper, kosher salt, and fresh herbs or green onions, to taste
Getting ready
Add 1/3 cup of water to the slow cooker along with the corn.
Corn should be tender and bright yellow after 2 1/2 to 3 hours of cooking on HIGH.
Remove corn with tongs and add your preferred butter, lemon juice, fresh herbs, and salt and pepper.
Serve right away and savor!
