At least fifteen people were killed in a horrific tragedy in Manitoba, Canada, on Thursday. 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg, at a crossroads near Carberry, a truck and a bus carrying elderly passengers collided.
The guests were on their way to a casino in Carberry. Deputy Police Officer Rob Hill, the commander of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba, confirmed that “at least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”
Ten other patients are also receiving medical attention from the hospital. Authorities have not yet determined the reason of the incident, despite the fact that both drivers are still alive. Near the tarpaulins covering the remains, photographs shot on the spot showed wheelchair seats and damaged walking frames.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences, saying that his prayers are with the families of those who have lost loved ones as well as the injured. Heather Stefanson, the premier of Manitoba, also expressed her sympathies.
Recently, one of the darkest events in Canadian history had place. A similar incident that killed 16 people occurred in Saskatchewan in 2018. These incidents demonstrate how important it is to drive sensibly and cautiously in order to prevent collisions in the future.
