When Beef entered Candace’s life, she was confronted with a threat: an upper respiratory virus that was spreading among the neighborhood cat colonies.
Despite the hardship, Beef was accepted into Candace’s care together with his sister and a litter of kittens that had earlier been saved.
Three kittens were tragically lost during the difficult first few days.
But Beef’s tenacity was evident, and he and Candace developed a special bond that became stronger over time.
His dependence on bottle-feeding created an unbreakable relationship, making adoption unthinkable.
Candace told We Love Cats and Kittens, “There was absolutely no way at that point when it came time to even consider adopting beef off.”
“I don’t think Beef would’ve allowed it,” she continued.
