Days before the remaining voters who have not yet cast ballots go to the polls on Tuesday, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California who has served in Congress since the early 1990s, made another unsupported statement against former President Donald Trump
Pelosi tried to argue in an interview on far-left MSNBC that Trump’s mental health is failing at the same rate that President Joe Biden’s has clearly deteriorated. Additionally, she asserted that supporting Trump meant actually supporting Trump’s running partner, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), who she called “horrible.”
Ironically, Pelosi herself found it difficult to respond when she was interviewed by Jen Psaki, Biden’s first press secretary who is now an MSNBC host.
“What the former president just said, in my opinion, is more proof of his cognitive decline. You recently witnessed him discussing whether he would rather be electrocuted or eaten by sharks. Pelosi asserted that “something is very wrong there and indicative also is diminishing the power of the press, which is the guardian of our freedom in our country,” despite recent polling showing that public support for “the media” is at its lowest level in modern history.
Pelosi went on, “I think people might consider voting for him, but they have to understand that he can’t serve as president for four years with his brain deteriorating at the rate it is and it is really obvious, and they might be voting for J. D. Vance, which would be a terrible thing for our country.”
Seventy-two percent of Americans think Biden lacks the “mental and cognitive health to serve as president,” according to a July CBS News/YouGov poll. Compared to just three weeks prior, the findings showed an increase of seven points.
Regarding whether former President Donald Trump has the mental and cognitive capacity for the position, voters are evenly split, with 50% stating that he does and 49% disagreeing.
The poll indicates that nearly half of his own party and a vast majority of Americans think the president shouldn’t seek reelection.
Democrats were calling for Biden to withdraw after a catastrophic debate with Trump at the time, and he finally did so, supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden advisers told CNN that Biden’s family, which included First Lady Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden, and their grandchildren, gathered at Camp David for a prearranged gathering and urged the president to continue his campaign for reelection. According to one advisor, the family members were providing their “unwavering support,” CNN reported at the time.
According to one adviser, the family, who were obviously dissatisfied with the group that helped President Biden get ready for his terrifying debate with former President Donald Trump, talked about firing any of Biden’s key advisers and changing the campaign staffing, the outlet continued.
