This role will not be filled by Vivek Ramaswamy, who was named by President Trump as co-chair of the recently established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Sources revealed shortly after the announcement that he is no longer connected to DOGE. Biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Ramaswamy is expected to announce his bid for Ohio governor next week. Alongside Elon Musk, he played a key role in the founding of DOGE, but the organization’s structure forces him to step aside. This decision follows Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s appointment of Jon Husted to the Senate, which has led Ramaswamy to seek running for governor. He became a well-known Trump supporter after his last presidential campaign ended with a dismal showing in the Iowa caucuses, which could help him in the state’s predominately Republican electorate.
