Kari Lake, a Republican from Arizona, has clarified her political destiny.
After losing the race for the available senate seat to U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Lake was considered for a while to run for office in another state. Born and reared in Iowa, several Republicans believed that Lake ought to challenge Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) in the Republican primary.
Since Lake lost a close contest to current Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs in 2022, there were also rumors that she will run for governor again. Trump’s apparent endorsement of conservative Karrin Taylor Robson in a Truth Social post made a second candidacy for governor seem less likely.
Lake was questioned about the claims and whether she would be interested in running for politics again during her speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference.
In order to assist President Trump, I’m traveling to Washington, D.C. I’m going to do it,” Lake declared to the audience.

“At elections, we’re not where we should be. And to be honest, that’s one of the reasons I don’t want to run again. Why subject yourself to that torment once more? She went on to say.
President-elect Donald Trump declared earlier this month that Lake will be the director of Voice of America, the federally supported international broadcasting media network.
Lake will collaborate with the future head of the U.S. Agency for Global Media “to ensure that the American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media,” Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social website. For for than 20 years, Kari was a well-liked news anchor in Arizona, which helped me win by record margins.
VOA was founded in 1942 to provide objective news and information in opposition to Nazi propaganda. Through the U.S. Agency for Global Media, the government provides funding for it. The VOA is legally obligated to provide “accurate, objective, and comprehensive” news overseas under its long-standing charter, according to Axios. “VOA broadcasts in over 40 languages to an estimated 354 million viewers worldwide each week.”
“I am honored that President Trump has asked me to lead the Voice of America. @VOANews is a vital international media outlet dedicated to advancing the interests of the United States by engaging directly with people across the globe and promoting democracy and truth,” Lake said in response to Trump’s X thank-you.
I am thrilled to have been asked by President Trump to lead the Voice of America. @VOANews is an important global media organization that is committed to furthering American interests by interacting directly with people throughout the world and promoting truth and democracy.

Advertisement Earlier this week, it was reported that Lake was among the leading contenders to serve as Trump’s ambassador to Mexico.
Despite her strong support for stringent border security and years of Trump’s backing, Lake lost her race for the Arizona Senate last month to Democrat Ruben Gallego. She also lost the Arizona gubernatorial election in 2022.
Lake, a fervent Trump supporter, has maintained a strong relationship with the president-elect in recent years, supporting his unverified allegations that the 2020 election was rigged. Lake attempted to temper some of her stances during her most recent campaign, especially when it came to abortion. Additionally, she attempted to patch things up with certain establishment Republicans with whom she had previously clashed, according to Semafor.
Like Trump, Lake supports stringent immigration restrictions. During the campaign, Lake referred to the flood of immigrants coming to the United States as a “invasion.” She ran on a platform of completing the US southern border wall, expanding the number of judges who hear asylum cases, expediting the deportation of undocumented immigrants who enter the country illegally, and constructing more border detention centers, the outlet continued.
