Mau Mau wasn’t your typical stray cat when she was originally discovered. This small cat immediately won people over with her unusual appearance and cartoonish face, but her path to become a cherished home pet was anything from typical.
This is the tale of how this once stray feline ended up cuddling in her forever home after wandering around a cat colony.
Saved from a Wild Life
Up until she was about 18 months old, Mau Mau, as she is now known, lived in a feral cat colony. However, she was different from other outside cats. She was discovered by Feline Care Cat Rescue, a committed group that rescues stray and wild cats, who soon discovered she wasn’t suited for outdoor living. They understood Mau Mau needed a safer setting because of her odd appearance and health problems.
A Fresh Start Indoors
Mau Mau’s rescuers immediately spotted certain peculiarities when she arrived at the scene. She looked like a cartoon character since she had very few teeth left, her tongue was always sticking out, and she was unable to completely close her eyes. Nevertheless, Mau Mau started to adapt to life indoors in spite of these changes. She gradually adjusted to life with people over the course of the following year and developed into a self-assured, loving cat.
When the rescue posted updates on Facebook, many of its fans were immediately won over by Mau Mau’s comical appearance. Not long after, a certain person noticed.
